BMW is going on tour this summer with their Ultimate Driving Experience. You can choose to drive various models on the street, or on the track (their are free and paid version of the track experience).
Right now you can register for upcoming dates in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Want to wring out a new 2-series on the track? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Man, I don't know if it would be worth the 3 hour drive into San Francisco to go play in a BMW on an auto cross course for a few hours. I did the Jag arive and drive event with my dad a few years ago and had fun doing that but I wouldn't have driven a few hours for it.

Yeah, I haven't registered because it would be a 2 hour drive to L.A., and my schedule is just completely unpredictible right now until I can get my real estate situation over with. If I were guaranteed to get to drive an M3, I would probably do it...but M's aren't an option.

They hit Boston in June and New York/New Jersey in July. Then Chicago.

If I lived in the city, it could be worth it but not the 3 hour drive, It'd be an 8 hour day getting there, having shit spewed at you to buy the car for 1.5 hours and then taking a hot lap and then finally getting home. That is assuming there is light traffic. If it was sit through the bull shit to beat on an M3 or M235i then maybe, but it won't be worth it to beat on a 225i or 525i.

And it's free? I already signed up (on waitlist), just curious. Considering there is a brand new 228i M sport in my driveway, i like the idea of hooning somebody elses.

Yes, completely free. My instructor was an ex Formula 3 driver. If you get there early, you might be able to test drive some other cars. Here's the write-up I did:
